A crisp white duplex and a brightly coloured school volleyball court might look like very different jobs. For Christopher Maamari, Director of Maamari Painting Services, they start with the same question: what does the client want to achieve, and how can he deliver it properly?
Working across residential, commercial and school projects, Chris tackles new builds, repaints, line marking and pressure cleaning. With one other painter alongside him, he runs a small team with an efficient system and a shared focus on getting the details right.
“I pride myself on bringing my clients’ vision to life,” says Chris. “You want them to look at the finished job and feel happy. That’s what makes the work worthwhile.”
Two recent projects show that approach in action, backed by Haymes Paint products and practical support from Network Render & Paint.

Milperra duplexes: a complete finish, inside and out
Built by Cornerstone Civil & Construction, the Milperra duplexes pair modern Mediterranean styling with curved balconies, light exteriors and warm timber-look details. Maamari Painting’s scope covered the painting inside and out, right through to the driveways.
Inside, Lexicon Quarter created a consistent palette across ceilings, walls and woodwork, with Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Interior Expressions Low Sheen selected for the walls.
For Chris, coverage and the finished appearance are big reasons he keeps coming back to Ultra Premium Interior Expressions.
“It lays on beautifully and gives you that really nice finish,” he says. “When someone walks into the room, you want them to get that wow feeling.”
Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Interior Expressions also brings practical benefits beyond handover. Its washable finish helps homeowners deal with everyday marks, while low odour and mould and mildew protection add to its appeal for lived-in spaces.
Outside, Chris used Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Solashield Exterior Low Sheen in COLORBOND Surfmist. The light finish complements the architecture, while UV resistance, colour retention and flexibility help the coating stand up to outdoor exposure.
Solashield carries a 20-year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking when applied according to Haymes Paint requirements. Its self-priming capability on suitable surfaces can also simplify the coating system, with preparation and any primer requirements checked for the substrate.
“I want to use something I have confidence in,” says Chris. “Haymes Paint gives me the coverage and finish I’m looking for, and I like supporting an Australian-made, family-owned business.”

A coordinated driveway finish with Haymes PaveShield
The driveway was part of the overall result, rather than an afterthought. Chris used Haymes Paint PaveShield in Shale Grey to give the concrete a neat, coordinated finish that works with the duplexes’ exterior palette.
Available through our Haymes Paint concrete and paving protection range, PaveShield is a solvent-based penetrating sealer designed for concrete. It provides a durable, UV-resistant finish, helps protect against staining and makes the surface easier to clean and maintain.
For suitable concrete, a coating system can also offer a more budget-friendly finish than options such as pebblecrete, depending on preparation, site conditions and the finish being compared.
“It comes up really nicely,” says Chris. “It’s an option worth talking through when someone wants a great-looking driveway and needs to keep the budget in mind.”

Penshurst Public School: a colourful court with Haymes QuickPave
At Penshurst Public School, the brief called for a different approach: transforming a plain concrete area into a colourful volleyball court during the school holidays.
After meeting with the principal, Chris completed the project over five days. Bold blue and red playing areas, an orange surround and clear white court lines gave the space a striking new look.
For this job, he chose Haymes Paint QuickPave, also available through our concrete and paving coatings range. The water-based, low-VOC paving paint provides a durable satin finish for suitable concrete surfaces, with easy application and quick drying making it a practical choice for a tightly scheduled repaint.
“The school needed someone who could make it happen over the holidays,” Chris says. “We worked through what they wanted, got it done, and they were really happy with the result.”

Network Render & Paint the trade partner behind the projects
Chris regularly visits our Revesby and Tempe stores, choosing the branch that suits the job. What keeps him coming back is the relationship.
“It’s not just about making another sale,” he says. “Marcio and the team help me work through the project and make sure I’m using the right system for the best outcome.”
With stores in Revesby, Tempe, South Wentworthville and Brookvale, Network Render & Paint supports painters and renderers with quality products, tools, trade accounts and practical advice. For a growing business like Maamari Painting, having people to call on matters.
“They’re honest, and if there’s an issue, they help you work through it and involve a rep when needed,” says Chris. “Having a supplier you trust makes a big difference.”
